| Short Synopsis: | In the center of this noir story, two detectives investigate a dangerous common crime – the loss of individuality. All the threads of the case lead two heroines to the most significant evidence, the last noticed trace of individuality – the red Sorelle Era dress. It appears and disappears during the story, guiding us through the narrative, reminding, that the inner strength and power can't be lost, and the the personal character is always hidden inside of every one. Following the dress the victim becomes the main character of her own story: she regains control over her life and her right of uniqueness, freeing herself from outside assessments and opinions. She ends up wearing that very red dress as an attribute of her newfound strength, courage and recognition of her sexuality and femininity. She finds out her own individuality has always been with her, she only had to allow herself to see her individuality clearly, to stop hiding and pretending to be who she's imposed to be. An additional important meaning of the story is the line about how a girl comes to the aid of a girl. It symbolizes mutual support, continuity and the destruction of the prejudice that relationships between women are full of rivalry. Femininity – is sisterhood. |
