AITAI (longing) is described as a work of visual poetry depicting the search for identity and belonging which draws from Japanese aesthetics of tranquillity. Models Riku and Minor appear as two unnamed figures engaged in a quiet battle where they refuse to be caught up in the dreariness of the world around them. Both models identify as members of sexual minority communities in Japan. |
