Munnings’ A Trip To Venus combines grainy and glossy styles to explore how the Berlin drag scene has become a home for trans, non-binary and AFAB artists from the north of England, Israel, Armenia, Iran and beyond. Opening with pounding techno and flashes of the artists in horns and dramatic make-up, leering and laughing into the camera, the film celebrates chosen family, collective community, and the creativity to be found outside the mainstream focus on male-bodied drag. |
